My Work
Saggar Pots (2020)
Among Indian potters (also known as Prajapatis) in North India, some potter families produce black surfaces out of red clay by keeping pots in a saggar chamber. While the potters at Nizamabad in Uttar Pradesh make black pottery, those in Pahari village in Rajasthan produce different colours from red to orange to black on the pot surfaces. I did ethnographical research there, stayed with them, learnt their techniques, and applied the same to my works.- Copyright © 2021-22 All rights reserved
