My Work
Reduction Ox (2007)
The ox figure is one of the most common forms in ancient Kurdish and Persian Art. While studying as an art student, I would often draw them. I also made some sculptures inspired by them. One particular sculpture had a copper oxide earthenware glaze which was baked in a reduction atmosphere. I did not follow any heavy smoking process. So only those parts which had better contact with smoke during baking turned metallic copper.
