Raku Pots (2023)

Raku is a Japanese style of pottery that originated in the 1580s.Historically tied to the Japanese tea ceremony, my Raku works reinterpret this tradition by connecting it to contemporary ecological and cultural narratives. The rapid cooling process symbolizes the fragility of ecosystems under stress, while the unique patterns reflect the co-creative relationship between human intention and material agency.
